Apple REIT Six, Inc. was formed on January 20, 2004 and formally began hotel operations in May 2004, with the acquisition of our first hotel, a SpringHill Suites by Marriott located in Fort Worth, Texas. Throughout 2004 and 2005, the Company, through a public offering of shares managed by David Lerner Associates, Inc., a New York-based investment firm, continued to raise funds at a fast pace. Then in March 2006, the Company reached its $1 billion goal of equity capital gross proceeds. During that same time frame, the Company diligently acquired properties and today our portfolio consists of 67 hotels, with 7,750 guestrooms, in 17 states.

The company was formed by Glade M. Knight, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Mr. Knight has been involved in the management of and investment in real estate ventures for more than 35 years. He is also the Chairman and CEO of Apple Hospitality Two, Inc., Apple Hospitality Five, Inc. and Apple REIT Seven, Inc.
